Storage for moving home
Chains slip. Completion moves. A container gives you somewhere to put a whole house for as long as the dates refuse to line up, with no notice period longer than a month.

Why people come to us
The usual reasons.
When the chain breaks
The commonest reason anyone rings us. You have exchanged, the removal van is booked, and the other end moves by three weeks. Everything you own has to go somewhere dry that you can get back into quickly, and it has to happen in days rather than weeks.
When you complete on a Friday
Completion money often lands too late in the day to unload properly. Putting the van into a container on the Friday and unpacking on the Saturday turns a panicked evening into an ordinary morning.
When you are moving in stages
Selling before buying, moving in with family for a few months, or renting somewhere smaller while you look. A container holds what will not fit, and you take things out as the new place is ready for them.
Which size
What you will probably need.
20ft container
A three or four bedroom house
£280 a month
plus 20% VAT — £336 a month
The size almost every house move takes. Furniture, white goods, the loft and the garage, with room left to walk in.
10ft container
A one or two bedroom flat
£160 a month
plus 20% VAT — £192 a month
Enough for a flat, or for the half of a house that will not fit in the new place.
Worth knowing
What we would tell a friend.
Book the container before the van
Removal firms are booked weeks ahead; a container can be ready the same day. Get the storage settled first and the van can be moved if the date slips again.
Load the van in reverse order
Whatever you will want in the first fortnight goes in last, nearest the doors. Kettle, bedding, tools, paperwork.
Keep the completion box with you
Passports, deeds, chargers, medication. Not in the container — in the car.
Our sister firm can do both
Secure Removals can move you and put the overflow straight into the container, so it is handled in one day rather than two.
Questions we get asked
How quickly can I get a container?+
Usually the same day. If one is free you can sign, fit your own padlock and start loading within the hour.
What if the chain moves again?+
Nothing happens automatically. You stay month to month and give us a month’s notice whenever the new date is certain.
Can I get to it in the evening?+
Yes. Container access is 24 hours a day, every day. The office is open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
Something not covered? Ring the yard on 020 4597 5633. Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
